The Cock Blocking Chronicles

Okay I don't want to beat a dead horse but I want to put my two cents in, concerning cock blocking. Now I'm a believer in the law of attraction, and what you put out is what you get, so when I talk to the homies about why a group of hot ass females like ourselves are single obviously I know I'm not sending out the right message but whats even worse is that with all the negative messages about 42% of black women not getting married and amidst you stumble upon a guy who is potentially IBM material and is infactuated with you (cough stacey cough) but you find the one physical flaw that he has minimal control over (SHORT MAN SYNDROME), that is the biggest form of cock blocking in my humble opinion, we shoot ourselves in the foot. Ladies we need to be open! BUT this by no means refers to lowering our standards or accepting waste, we should realise when we are in the presence of potential greatness. i'm just saying....

OK... I am super hyperactive right now, I've had about 2 hours sleep max in the last 24 hours and have had multiple energy drinks+ caffeine.

Right about now, I should be well on my way to my beloved library and then of to see minha amiga (Morning the loss of her dog :( sad times), but got a little side tracked and thought I'd make my own cut off denim shorts from an old pair of River Island jeans I've probably only ever worn twice. It came out alright... so I think I may be onto an outfit for my friends 25th birthday this weekend.

I'm loving the whole cut-off denim shorts over tights (casual/night)look, and glad its back this spring, especially with our British weather... you never know what you will be getting. I will most likely team it up with a nice shirt, heels and and a blazer! mwhahahahah!

Not really! I actually enjoyed my session today. Thanks to Aggie who sent me a few links last night, I was able to delve into and extract much more needed information.

Watching a few videos and and reading a few articles really did open my eyes to the everyday issues we may brush under the carpet and ignore. Hmmm... Sometimes we have to think and look outside of the box in order to understand a situation better and get the answers we need in life.

In relation to Stacey's previous post, I also read the article regarding Lexington: Sex and the single black woman The Economist. It's crazy, but a lot that was said in it was soo true! Its got to the point where black men unconsciously go about life the way they do because, deep rooted right at the back of their minds and from previous years before, it is and still known that

- Black men with good jobs are “a hot commodity”.

The reason is that there a lack of eligible black men in society, due to some being in prison, some being homosexual, some being just utter waste lol etc, etc, so to find that perfect 'black' man, you know, that IBM (Ideal Black Man) is like finding treasure. And black men know this and play on it. They have the whole female population on them, and we as black women are boosting their egos by fighting over them like they are the only men left in the world!

Women, stop complaning that you are still single and that all the good black men are taken and look outside the box....lol you never know what you might find. Your dream man can come in all different packages. Integrate. It's 20-fookin-10 (2010), there ain't nothing wrong with dating outside your race.

Cock blocking continued!!

I'm going to follow tuna's post on cock blocking with my own little rant!!! It seems that cock blocking goes on in the virtual world- maybe even more than it does in reality?! Are u single with male friends on facebook for example... many of which you would not even think about dating? they say hello on your page every day and comment on your pictures etc - seems harmless BUT when the men that you ARE interested in view your profile .. they take a step back! And u have officially been cockblocked!! The worst form of this usually comes from f.o.bs: fresh of the boat ..usually young African men who have one goal - to find their wife! they will never give up until they have convinced you and all their friends and your friends that you belong to them! And yes I'm speaking from experience- you have been warned!!!! LOL MAYBE WE SHOULD TO STAY CLEAR OF BLACK MEN COMPLETELY..? "Black men are willing to date anyone and, while not always appreciated(especially by black women), it is generally accepted. American black women, in my experience, are raised to believe they should find someone within their own race, especially not a white man. So much so that many I've encountered won't even consider dating someone outside their race and many severely criticize those who do. My advice to them is to free their minds so the rest may follow. As long as they insist on a black man there will be no incentive for black men to treat them better. Its economics 101 with supply and demand. Once black men are forced to compete for black women they will up their game, and if they don't the woman will have a better shot at happiness with another race."

Our body movements and facial expressions vary depending on who you are talking to. But what's more funny is that there is more of a drastic change between talking to the opposite sex and talking to the same sex.

Obvious!?!?!? I know.

To Cassie or not to Cassie?!!!

Mainly because of boredom and lack of growth ...the hair situation is an ongoing issue for me- well for any black girl! I've changed my hairstyle more times than I've eaten Nandos chicken- which is a lot!!!! So what next... gotta keep it splashhy... Cassie is soo 'I hate her pretty' she could carry off any hair-do but I think I'm gonna try my own version of this - with out shaving my head- takes too damn long to grow!!! Hopefully I'll be transformed from a 'please don't look my way' to 'watch me nowww!' hahaha Me cassiefied!! Me amor. . obrigada tunafish!

Where have all the bargains gone?!

I am with you there fishy on escaping from technology ... I love it but we have to remember the times before internet :D I don't enjoy online shopping as much as the high street but that's all changing. I have been avoiding entering any shops apart from the one I work in but today I was early for work and decided to pop into a shop or two looking for on trend interview outfits (positive thinking). To my horror I discovered the sales are pathetic and there wasn't anything exciting I could buy with my £10 voucher lol :((( there was the odd special promotion but it was not that special once you read the small print !!!! It got me thinking maybe we are out of the recession as the politicians keep saying. Tax is back up and the sales that were encouraging shoppers seemed to have come to an end! Not fair!!!! I believe that by shopping we are doing our bit to save the economy but without a bargain to find -why bother?!! All that said I will be treating myself to these as soon as my bank balance is no longer looking like its on its death bed;)

I have finally recovered from my Angolan flu epidemic!

Crunch time is pushing near with my deadline 24 days away... but I am calm, cool and collected lol.

Today I been at home sorting out what I need to do for this week in order to be on schedule. So for the remainder of the week, I will be living by my task list.

As gay as it may seem, I wrote a letter to a certain someone today. I realised, no one ever takes time out of their lives to pick up a pen and paper and write to someone. These days its all about texts, email, facebooking, etc, no matter the distance between you, which makes it all too easy.

Yes, I know its technology, but the idea that someone cares enough to take time out of their life to write to you, well, its kind of sweet and you will also have memories of it all.

What brought this up??? Well, lets just say the last person I spoke to before I hit the pillows last night reminded me of why I care and want this person in my life.

And those that make me feel this way, deserves the same in return!
