Style Crush: Pure-Lovers

I've recently been loving my Portuguese fashion bloggers I must say, and one that has caught my attention is Vannessa from Pure-Lovers, who was featured on Motel Rocks blog.
I personally love her style as she resembles what I love fashion wise, dynamic yet simple. She pieces simple, classic items together with a variation of textures and colours which all works. Plus her pictures are calling me to visit Portugal again.

Here are a few of my favourite looks of hers.

LoveIt!

Organix hair products

Hey everyone, I spent quite a lot of time this weekend in Boots looking for the best hair products, since I have decide to give my hair some TLC! I'm always perming, weaving or plaiting my hair, that I hardly actually see so it needs some attention! Boo! Coco helped me devise a plan (she's my witchdoctor remember lol) so now all I had to do was start putting what she told me into practice! I went in search for a shampoo and conditioner first and found Organix hair products, which I think for now may answer all my hair prayers! I was looking particularly for a shampoo without sulphates, as it's a detergent and so can be harsh to your hair. I chose "Ever straight brazilian keratin therapy" shampoo and conditioner as the shampoo is sulphate free but also these products contain Kertain proteins to help smooth and strenghten curly or wavy hair. This is good because I don't plan to perm my hair anytime soon but hopefully it shall maintain and make my hair manageable. These products smell good as they also have coconut oil, avocado oil and cocoa butter in it but you do have to use quite a lot of the shampoo as it doesn't lather (sulphates give shampoo their lather). In addition, I bought Organix's "30 smoothing day treatment," a home brazilian keratin treatment that claims to keep your hair straight for 30 days. I'm not planning to use it anytime soon but when I do decide I want my hair permed/straight again I shall use this so I'll keep you guys informed. I also bought their "Renewing moroccan argan penetrating oil" because I have heard loads about how Argan Oil is soo good for your hair! And to make things even better, Boots were doing a deal where all Organix products were 2 for £8! Which is a bargain considering 30 smoothing day treatment cost £12.99! I let you know how my hair journey goes!

Regal Rose: Cuff Earings

By now, some of you should already know that when it comes to jewelery, I am very minimal.
I barely wear earrings, and when I am bothered to, its only ever studs.
Neclaces... sometimes the odd bod statement pieces.
But rings....I LOVE LOVE LOVE!

However, I recently stumbled upon Regal Roses collection and I have to admit, I am mesmorised by their minimalistic pieces. Right up my street indeed!

Though I am not big on overly excited earrings, I absolutely loved the spiked ear cuff Mischa.B wore on her X Factor performance. (In my online shopping basket as I type away)

Thinking of being a little adventurous here and purchase these baby too, what do you think?!

Don't give up on 2012 yet!

I read somewhere that New Years Resolutions generally don't make it past the first few weeks of January so I thought I would make this post just to say DON'T GIVE UP! It takes around 21 days to break a habit so keep going :D 2012 has so much to offer, you will see!

It's time to take a new approach to resolutions! We either don't think we need them or we make them to break them! Not this year! The way I see it, every year is an opportunity to have a fresh slate and make a new set of goals. There will always be something in our lives we wish was better whether its health, finances, relationships or achievements so instead of moaning, do something about it and be the best you can be!
Once you have your resolutions written down, the next step is to set yourself tasks that will bring you closer to achieving your goal. So if its to get fit and healthy, you plan out your exercise days and what eating habits you will change. If its to save some money, you work out exactly how much you can save each month and set up a savings account. Keep reviewing your goals each day!

In a quest to kick start our ambitions for the future the girls and I are going hard with our resolutions and documenting our progress for that extra bit of motivation! See how we are getting on here.. http://ybs180in180.blogspot.com/

'Cherish yesterday, dream tomorrow, live today'

I heart Zara

The sales are not over yet ladies!!! The sales may get smaller but the prices get lower and now is the right time to grab yourself a bargain before the new collections take over the shop floor. One of my favourite shops, especially in the sales is Zara. I remember queuing for an hour on boxing day a few years ago and I ended up leaving with just one item. This year I've avoided that stress by staying at home browsing online and I've got my eye on a few things...

.
I desperately need a coat and I'm liking this one which started at £120, then it went down to £100, now its £70. I might give it one more week before I grab it!

Before you go mad, take a minute to re assess your wardrobe and maybe do some swaps or sell anything you don't wear. We all have to be careful with our money these days but I say don't shop less, shop smart and be creative with what you have!

Obsessions: Shoes

Have you ever had one of those dreams, where you meet the guy of you dreams, he's sexy, smart, successful, well dressed.... you know, the whole works.

The dream goes so well.

Then your alarm goes off. You wake up only to realise it was all a dream, and you have no clue who this dude was.

Well... it's kind of like the dream I had the other night. except I was not infatuated by a man per say, instead a pair of suede ankle boots, with metallic wedges.

Since I woke up, Ive been searching all over the net for any existing pair, yet no success... nothing just quite matches up.
However, I found traits in these two  shoes which almost resembles the pair in my dreams. But not exactly what I'm looking for.

Help!!!!!

My TV: Funny Youtubers Part 1

Okay so back to my YouTube obsession. These are some of the youtubers that keep me rolling

This beautiful piece of Chocolate man is Kid fury of Thefurytv . I found him while trying to understand the whole Kat Stacks debacle (side-eyeing my ghosts of hoodrat past). If you don't laugh I'm judging you.

My sisters spent the longest time trying to get me up on MsReeezy and I'm glad they did she slays me.

DavidSo..... this guy confuses my ovaries. The jokes have me on the floor but he's also a musician, part of me is like he's so funny then I hear him sing and I think move over Common and Idris.

Hotdamnirock aka Kain Carter. Lets put it this way Kain is raw.

Anyway I hope you enjoy these videos and I'll be back soon with more funny Youtuber's, there's entirely to many.

Til next time
Peace

No More TV for me ( sort of ): The Drama

So I used to be called Telly addict when I was younger, I could sit for hours watching TV but I've been changed.... Hello, My name is Boo.... and I'm a YouTube addict.
Over the last year I've become a super YouTube head, with close to 250 subscriptions ( it's growing everyday) i need a daily fix. So I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you guys:

First is my absolute favourite ABG: me and my legions of Awkward home girls love it and I'm pretty sure I know all the words to Booty Shawts. The last episode of the series comes out on the 11th. #TeamFRED baby!

I found out about Milk and Honey via Clutch and um yeah, Produced by Idris Elba and starring Lance Gross and Bryce Wilson..... GOD IS GOOOOOOD.
Lawd Baby

And my newest obsession is 12- steps to Recovery. I'm currently watching the series and I'm loving it.

I hope that there is some sort of UK series for me to get emotionally attached to this year..

Til next time
Peace

New Year, New Start!

It's New Year, 2012 baby! I'm sooo excited and I'm determined to make it a good one! There's so many things I want to achieve this year such as finally losing weight but I have realised I sometimes can let things go by the waist side. I'm currently reading a book my brother gave me called "Four Hour Body- An Uncommon guide to Rapid fat loss, Increadible sex and becoming superhuman" by Timothy Ferriss. Even though it is a fitness/ diet book it is also more of a self-help book as it has great advice. This in particular stuck out to me:
Four principles of failure-proofing behaviour:
1. Make it conscious 2. Make it a game 3. Make it a competition 4. Make it small and temporary
I think this is great advice! If you are constantly aware of what you're trying to achieve and make it a competitive game of some sorts but small and for short period of time, you are more likely to suceed! Think about it, how much more are you motivated when you know when something depends on you suceeding or something is at stake if you don't! And you are more likely to do something if it small and only have to commit to temporarly.
Since I'm now fully aware of this, I shall not only be applying these principles to help my weight loss but all other areas of my life. If you want to see if the principles work, check out our other blog: http://ybs180in180.blogspot.com/. You know you want to ;) !

Feathers and Stripes.

I am really trying hard not to go out and over spend unnecessarily this year... very hard.
But when I obsess over fashion pieces, I can't resist temptation.
Recently I have done ever so well in opting for cheaper/high street alternatives to designers items such as the Zara coated jeans instead of the Donna Ida J brands, and Zara version of the Aqua Asymmetrical Skirt.
I aim to continue this.

However, I have been obsessing over the Motel Rocks Stripped Jeans for a little while and feel I may fall into temptation with these.

However, another item I have been obsessing over as well is the feather skirt, which I have decided I will make myself, using simply an old body con skirt and a couple of yards of feather trim fringe.

I shall begin this some in the next week and will keep you all updated.

Style Crush: Keisha Buchanan

Happy New year's guys, I hope everyone had a blessed Chrismas and New Years. And what better way to start off the new years than by being inspired to re-evaluate my wardrobe and adding some colour to my normally drab colours, and Ms Buchanan does it Oh so well.

Dressing Up an LBD with red lips, a red shirt and a Dope necklace
 Leather and animal print
More animal print... Yes to everything in this picture
 Is that Ankara I see

A little colour goes a long way

I love the fact that Keisha's skin is so chocolatey and she doesn't shy away from bold colours, in both dress and make up.
