Single Lady

FEBRUARY : So then it was back to reality! This month has just flown by , they say that happens when your having fun and although I have had lots of it, I have spent a lot of the month suffering from 'post holiday blues'. Yes this is a self diagnosed disorder ok! everytime I go away I come back fantasising about living in the country and the fact that the beautiful islands are where I originate from just made it even worse this time. Yes there is poverty, goats and monkeys in the roads and limited resources but there is also sunshine, great food, positive people and most importantly lots of family, which make it home. After a catch up with my girls I remembered that I have a family here too and as much as I moan about the UK , British is part of who I am, and I love me so I gotta love the UK too right?! :D

What else did February bring? hmm well it didnt bring love! Gone are the days where you can wave your ringless hand in the air & do the single ladies dance ... BEYONCE - WHERE THE HELL ARE U NOW?! WHEN WE NEED YOU THE MOST?!! HUUUUH!?!

O MY BAD, I FORGOT, YOU GOT THAT RING ON IT!! lol ok so im not bitter.. in fact im happy for all you love birds, i just dont need a over commercialised day like Valentines to dictate to me when i need to be in love.lol Im feeling the pressure but at the same time your 20s are one of the few decades you can be as selfish as you like so Im enjoying the me time while I have it and all the thrills that the journey to Mr right can bring!x

Superwoman says Hello!

its me, hiiiiiii... Long time no blog!!! *hangs head in shame* Can't even begin to fill you in on all the highs and lows of the last few months but hey its 2011.. a brand new year so i'll take it from here. JANUARY: I escaped the freezing UK temperatures and spent the first few weeks of January in the Caribbean island hopping- a long awaited trip of a life time! Sun, sea, sand, meeting my family, eating , cocktails and more eating. . .

If I still had it I would style it up exactly like this.... but such is life. My poor jumper is probably decomposing at the bottom of a dump or on one of my many family members in Nigeria (my mum has a knack for sending my stuff off without my knowledge :(

STYLE BUBBLE @ TOPSHOP & THE SWAROVSKI FASHION EXHIBITION

So me and Bella thought we'd pop over to one of topshops scheduled LFW events - Style Bubble's blog master class @ topshop.

It was nice to get some tips from someone who has been in the blogging scene for sometime and has succeed.

Listening to her kinda gave us a confidence boost, I like the fact that she clearly states that "she is not a fashion expert nor insider, but merely a fashion lover / consumer" in which we all are. It's true, as much as everybody is so excited about London fashion week, its not merely what we see on the catwalk that interests us the most, but the unique and personal touches in which individuals put on from the catwalk trends we see each season.

Its not so much ;

"I ooohhhh wonder what Lavin will be dressing Agnes Deyn this season",

but instead,

"I wonder what style bubble will be wearing tomorrow"

After that, Bella (My personal events planner - I swear to you shes the best...what ever you are looking for, she can arrange for you) dragged me along to the Swarovski Fashion Exhibition.

There we saw some very beautifully decorated garments: (Excuse the bad Camera quality... We had both left the house in a rush that we left our cams)

The "Frill" Of Fashion

Elie Tahari Spring/Summer 2011

As stated in my previous post – (Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion trends), I am absolutely loving the 70’s inspired looks.

If you had told me 6 months ago that I would be even considering putting of wide legged / flared patterned trousers, fringed jackets/shorts and super-sized, mama-jamma chunky hill, I would have told you to go some where with that silly talk.

But slowly, the look has been growing on to me, and day by day I’ve loved it more and more.Specifically speaking, I really love the frill’s or some would say pleats. I already own a layered frilly top (bought from H&M a couple of years ago) which I absolutely love and even more so now as it is right on trend.

The frills work for me not only because I am a frill seeker (hahahah you see what I did there), but also because I am a little petite in size and I feel I have a boyish figure. So putting on some frills, especially on my bottom half, can not only just give me that girly twang I sometimes lack, but also give the illusion of wider hips. – YES I HAVE BEEN OVER WATCHING GOK THIS SEASON….SO KILL ME!

Ok, Pardon moi for my lateness. I been meaning to do a daily fashion forecast as it's London Fashion Week, but my internet decides to die on me at the most inconvenient times. - Silly thing!

So yes, I am a good 4/5 days late, but I dont care, I'm gonna bombard you with with all my fashion likes, dislikes and ventures of LFW.

So as of yet, I'm loving the natural colours of nudes and creams in contrast of acid colours such as lime and yellow.

Yay! It's London Fashion Week!

Yay! London fashion week starts today to show us what we'll be rocking come this spring/summer! I love fashion week but the best has to be the spring/summer one cos that's when you know summer is near! Yay again! This fashion week, tonight the girls and I are going to an opening party sponsored by Custo Barcelona and Evogue. Custo Barcelona apparently are renowned for their parties and make fabulous bags! I'm soo excited! And then on Saturday, we are going to an exclusive Swarovski Runway Rocks exhibition! Can't wait for that too! It's going to be a good weekend! =D Diva xoxo

Before the latest issue of company magazine, I had vaguely heard of Marina and the diamonds. But after reading an interview, I found that Marina is a girl after my own heart! This is because she is a young, strong woman and she's not sorry about! Just like me! Before reading her interview I never would have considered myself a feminist but now when I think about it guess I am! I hate how certain rules and roles are imposed on us because we are women, such as looking after the house, children and husband! I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this but it is always made out that it is OUR duty! Lord knows, how many times I have gone mad, when my mum and nan ask me to do something around the house like washing the plates or hoverring the house and when I ask them why can't my brothers do it, they are like "It's because you're a woman!" Arggghhhh! And we still have a long way to go in terms of equality in the workplace between men and women. There's so many things that niggle me but I can go on forever... I'm just hoping in the future hopefully these stereotypes will change! I like this song too. The lyrics are great and she has great fashion sense! Definitely a girl after my heart! <3 Diva xoxo

I'm lovin' right now... Jerry Lavigne Jr!

Thanks to Boo!Coco I have been introduced to the HILARIOUS comedian, Jerry Lavigne Jr. I have spent time that I should have been doing work watching his videos cos they are just so good... so check him out! I don't know how to exactly to describe his videos but they are mostly about relationships between women and men. I love so many of his videos: "I love questions", "Why she said no", "Why did she slap me?" too many to mention but my favourite video is "Pussy Payments". I bet you are thinking "But really Diva?!" but hear me out! I think what he is saying is true cos at the end of the day sex does motivate guys to do things for us and so we as woman should be aware of this. I'm now soo aware after watching the video, I like to call it "Pussy Transactions" lol. Also what Jerry says about "Pussy being priceless and dick being worthless" is hilarious and I think that's true too lol. Recently I went to a Valentine's day "slave" auction, where you could buy a date and the most a girl went for was £135 whereas for a guy it was £85, and trust me it was a struggle to even get that for him lol. Thus this shows what he is saying is true cos literally the guys where falling over themselves trying to outbid each other while us girls were chilling, looking cute as we are supposed to cos "dick is worthless" lol. I know some people are offended by his videos but really it's just comedy! You need to have a good laugh once in a while and not take things so seriously! Lots of love, Diva xoxo

Does playing hard to get really work?

We have all done it at least once, playing hard to get thinking that it will get us the guy we want but really does it work? In this age of "Sex and the city" (Bible no. 1) and "Art of Seduction" (a bible just not sure what number yet lol) we all know "The Rules"- don't call straight after a date, I think they say leave 3 days or something like that lol, don't reply back to his texts straightaway.... basically don't be too available! But yesterday with it being Valentine's day, my beliefs were shaken to the core by a story where a girl who always available to a guy, told him STRAIGHT UP she liked him and guess what... it worked?! Now I just don't know what to believe lol. Maybe being direct is the way forward, after all guys aren't not mind readers lol. Diva xoxo P.s. Yesterday I was annoyed because a bbm message between a guy and girl was being circulated around the internet, where the girl asked the guy to be her valentine and he replied he was busy when initially he said he wasn't. It annoys me because guys always complain "Why is it up to them to make the first move" and then when a girl finally does you act like a PUNK! THAT'S WHY WE DON'T! Also it's not cool circulating stuff like that!

Rihanna's done it again! With S&M....

Today Rihanna released her long awaited music video for her racy song "S&M". Apparently the video has been banned in 10 countries cos it is too "sexually explicit" and its viewing is being restricted! Of course this meant I had to hunt it down and see for myself what all the fuss is about lol. I watched the video and personally I don't see what's so wrong with it! It no worse than some hip hop videos and they are pratically PORN! As I said before access to the video is being so restricted, but lucky for you guys I've got it here for you:
