Como foi seu fim de semana?

So Friday was D's delayed night out... and from what I remember and from the photo's, the nibbles were tasty. The music however.... I swear to God, the DJ was playing every track I HATE TO DEATH.
The fact that my feet wasn't hurting me at the end of the night just goes to show how bad he was!
Regardless of that, us girls were all together and that all that really matters, as we are the ones who make the party...
During the weekend, I started reading a new book bought for me by D called ''Kiss My Tiara'' by Susan Jan Gilman. The book is amazingly funny and is a great sum up of me and my girls and the way we go about our lives. It's sub-title:
How to rule the world as a smart mouth goddess!
The book is a funny guide which offers women an intelligent alternative to the negative messages we hear in life on everything including sex, money and politics.
And to top it up... she has the best quotes ever
''Right now, there are two things in my life that need to be done: me and my laundry. I want to marry a man who can do both!''
A book every woman must read
As well as that, Friday afternoon, me and my mum did some quick shopping in the Village at Westfields for gifts to send to my aunt and cousins.
With the amount of money we spent (£850) at Lancome and Church, we were showered with free-ness (or better known as gifts with purchases) such as Lancome 'definicils' Mascara and L'absolu Rouge lipstick which I love love love!!
Included in the gift bag was also some Lancome cleanser, make up remover, toner and sample perfumes.
And best of all... a Lancome make-up bag!
God I love freebies!!!

Remember back in Lisboa?.......

..Remember back in Lisbon where the sun was out and we were looking and acting like celebrities? The last few albums of our holiday finally arrived on facebook this week, and yes I've been going through them ten times over... trying to imagine I'm still there and somehow transport my self back, star trek stylee lol. When that didn't work i started slacking - no gym, no combing of the hair (don't judge me) and no real effort in my appearance but I have given myself that little slap round the face to remind myself that time doesn't wait for anybody! Gotta get organised, put on those heels and stomp to the finish line, right..! :D Well the sun may be gone but lets not lose that holiday attitude ladies!!!

Gowns and Mortar boards

Soooo Graduation day finally came and despite all the worries and troubles .. the day was like a page in a storybook, worth the wait! Its so important to recognise your achievements whatever they may be and the ceremony did just that, as much as I want to blow up the damn university, for a moment I felt part of something to be proud of :D All the men looked smart for once and nearly all the ladies followed the beauty is pain commandment in their heels. I noticed as I watched the shoes go by that there were some ugly flat ones but the majority of ladies added a splash of personality with their heels, which is what I love about fashion- we may all be wearing the same uniform whether its our skin colour, eye colour, body shape or gown and mortar board but you can always shine! I'm not usually a fan of rules and tradition but i felt so comfortable in my graduate uniform- i could rock the gown all year round!! Wear it 99 different ways-team it with trousers and boots in the winter or a cute dress and heels in the summer and you're ready to party like its 1899! hahahhaah ps. mortar board is that hat thing if anyone was wondering :D

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away"

What a moment I had yesterday! It all started as a normal Thursday - at work, a training day and then I began to day dream. Wouldn't it be nice to escape the computer screen and run around in the sunshine... ok maybe not run just stroll lol. Nehoo 2 minutes later Xuna messaged me on my Blackberry and said Diva has 3 free theatre tickets for a show in less than an hours time!!! I said well I could be out early today (wishful thinking)... next thing I knew the training man said lets wrap it up here and instead of going back to the office I ran away... and next thing I knew was on a bus to Piccadilly!haha

You really have to grab each opportunity and run with it! We all met at the theatre and ran in just on time. If you're ever in central London I suggest you go and see this production. 'HAIR'... based on the 70s. Quite low scale and alternative but we loved ittt!! It really made my afternoon ;D
You wouldn't believe how easy it is to live the high life on a budget- we discovered this in Lisbon but it can work in London too. In the last week we have had free drinks, a half price meal , got free theatre seats and walked the red carpet! Its always worth signing up to websites and visiting student sites for special offers. No one need know what's really in your purse ;) From now on me and the girls have made a vow to always be ready for randomness like this... we only live once after all!
Friday today... finally get to see boo coco! been too long girlll... i think a meeting plus wiiine is in order to discuss our future outings! i agree Xuna- so much to do before we are 30!!! woooooop woooooop .. C u later xxxxxx

Work for you

Well after the crazy Wireless weekend it was back to work. Five hours sleep and a cup of tea later and I still felt sleepy and itchy from the bug bites grrrrr! I'm not sure if I was dreaming or just in deep thought at my desk but I got into this discussion with myself about my career... I am so happy to have got this new job that relates to my degree but what path am I following now.. how am I going to get the most out of this, so there are fewer steps to my dream career- which is what again?? Ahhhrhg! Trey Songz says it best- I just wanna be successful!

I can never keep too much in my head so the next day out came the verbal diarrhoea to Xuna and we were discussing our interests in Public Sector careers, where it takes time to get to the big bucks and also this magazine article I read about these women who have Portfolio Careers where they can have flexible work patterns and earn lots of extra cash! Whether they came across it by accident or pursued the change themselves these women had about 3 or 4 career paths that reflected both their skills and personality. Lyande, age 25 who earns a total of £2300 a month from her 3 jobs described it as "a fantastic way to work towards my dream without throwing financial security out of the window. I never want to think: what if I had tried this?' Now I can explore everything" We said to each other this is the answer! Lets do ittt! Then we realised we are halfway there!!! This is more of a life style blog than a fashion blog but we take pride in our appearance and like to express ourselves by putting our individual style twist to what we wear. In other words we like to look hott! In between the jobless behaviour we look around for items (some vintage) that we sell on to fellow fashion victims so they can put their own unique stamp on it.

If not start doing additional work in the evenings/ weekends to try a variety of jobs. -Start building networks- list people who can support you. You'll need help materially, financially and emotionally. -Think like a freelancer. You are the CEO, MD, secretary, finance director and tea lady in one. Wireless Festival 2010 Baby!

So.... The day I have been waitin for came! whoop whoop. Me and the girls (plus our fairies) headed off to Hyde Park for a the summer music fest - WIRELESS FESTIVAL.... and must I say, 2010's line up was amazing!
Head liner was Jay Z and he was just amazing! He really worked up the crowd! There was also UK artists performing, Tinnie Tempah, he was amazing with his live band! We were all hyped on pass out, Stacey's fave professor Green was there too, Lily Allen, Ghana's finest was in Awe when she saw D12, but what I came for originally (although Drake had flopped) was my baby J COLE!!!!! aaaaaarrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhh

Originally... I had just heard a few of his tracks and was only properly introduced to him by a friend, and fell in love with 'Dreams' and 'Loosing your Balance'
But it was only until seeing him perform live yesterday, that I had fallen in love with him. Lyrically talented and just a sweet heart, J Cole (suprised himself) was welcomed by a large crowd of serious fans here in the UK, after (quoted by himself) thinking he only had 5 fans here!
Overall.... the festival was amazing excluding the bottle throwing and dirt.... oh and we can't forget staceys broken sandles...hahahaha but defo looking forward to it next year!
