Office Christmas Parties

Putting aside Fridays where we look forward to the weekend, Christmas office parties are usually an exciting time as we celebrate with our work colleagues the end of the year, entering the festive season and new year.
After a year of working at my firm, and being designated the office socialite (Only because I am one of the youngest working there), I was asked to help plan this years Christmas office party, as if finding a outfit for the event is not a hard enough job already.
Even if you work in the coolest office in the city or not, for one evening, we all go through the same worry.... What to wear?!
'projecting my glam style, whilst maintaining my credibility at work' is the look we aim for.
Depending on where and how you are celebrating Christmas with your work colleagues (Low key or upscale) here are a few on season trends worth considering:
A long-sleeved wrap dress with a little bit of fur can't do you no wrong...
Picture from Intrigue Me Now
Those who know me know that I DO love the leather look...
-- Flor De Maria Fashion Necklace, Macys Top, Forever 21 Pants, Mimi Boutique Bag, Steve Madden Shoes
If its a more formal do, how about an asymmetrical dress or skirt?
Causeway Mall Dress, Forever 21 Necklace, Mimi Boutique Bag, Shoedazzle Shoes
Or why not stand out from the crowd with a sparkly monochrome look

What ever you ladies choose to wear, make sure you feel fabulous, enjoy and have a Merry Christmas.

Half Full Maxi /Asymmetrical Skirt By AQUA

I'm being a slight Grinch this year with Christmas, but I have managed to start my xmas shopping a little earlier.
Aqua: £52
Style Is My Thing
I managed to stumble on a asymmetrical skirt in Zara. I had previously seen another version the net from Aqua and Style is my thing (Who looks amazing) and warmed to it. But you guys know me... I always manage to find a cheaper copy cat version. So Zara's the one I bought... without a second thought.
Zara: £29.99
I think I will take it in a bit in the waist just to make it high-waisted and slightly fitted.
I thought it was oddly quirky, particularly because I have always loved maxi skirts/dresses, but due to my 'midgetness' I tend to stay away from them.
However, I like the fact that this is half maxi, half mini... something different to work with.
Think I might wear it this Friday to a work Christmas party. So watch out for that post.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Top 3 Man Hating Video's

Every once in a while a dude will mess up whether it be leaving the toilet seat up or committing the cardinal sin of cheating on you with your brother *side-eyeing myself on that one*. Anyway just for fun here are my top 3 Man hating songs to sooth the soul;

1. Caught Out There - Kelis,
Usually this song is best for when you've just found out his crime,

2. Go- Meleka
Okay so you found out then you get a lil revenge

3. Me, Myself and I - Beyonce
Okay so you've realised he's a douche and now you are ready to let him go

Hope you guys enjoy and til next time
Peace
Boo!

T.G.I.F

Thank God I'ts Friday!
Worked hard all week waiting for Friday to come along so decided I would not be spending it twitching on the sofa...(not that I usually do that). Kidnapped Xuna and off we went in our leathers, to a friend's birthday celebrations in Old Street. Last minute outings are always the best, in a weird and wonderful way... don't you think?
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Solid Gold!

For a long time I have been looking for a gold nail polish... one to rival Minx nails and I have finally found it THANK YOU Barry M. I remember when Minx nails first become popular and everyone was rocking mettalic nails but I didn't know it was Minx so bought another gold Barry M nail polish thinking that was it and it was soo NOT! But now I have Barry M instant effects in Foil and life is great!
Look for yourself:
(Sorry about the picture but this is a clear as I could get it because they're soo shiny!) I only wish it was a bit more goldy like Minx but besides that I'm very happy! Will defo be wearing it all through this xmas season!

Model's Own Bettle Juice Collection

I got these gorgeous nail polishes by Model's Own a few weeks back . The collection is called Beetle jucice because they are inspired by the colours on bettles' wings. I was lucky to get these because they are sooo popular that 2 of the nail polishes in my pack are currently no longer in stock until the end of the month : golden green and pinky brown. Lucky I got them from ASOS for £10 and I got 25% student discount off them! Score! Anyways I want you guys to see how lovely they are for yourself:
This is Golden Green:
Looks good enough to eat!
Here's Pinky Brown: I love how you can see both colour tones. From afar though you would think it's a glittery purple.
And here's emerald black:
This is a really nice colour but I would say it is more emerald. All the nail polishes were really easy to apply but took a while to dry properly so I smudged them a bit. The nail polishes are long wearing too (I applied a base coat before applying them but not a top coat). However the pinky brown is a bit difficult to remove because it has glitter in it. Out of 10 I would give these nail polishes: 8

Album Review: Buraka Som Sistema - Komba

I was meant to blog about this a little while back, but some how it managed to go over my head.
My taste in music is somewhat slightly varied, as I don't have a particular favourite genre. Purely for the fact that I tend to like what I'm feeling at that moment in time. Kind of like my dress sense.
Anyways...
I am a big Buraka fan, and of course, purchased Buraka Som Sistema's new album (realeased on 31st October 2011), Komba a couple of weeks ago.
For those of you who don't know (most likely the majority) Buraka Som Sistema is a collective Lisbon based group who mix Angolan sounds of Kuduro with House and Techno ultimately creating an new sound of Afro-House.
This album is very energetic with unstoppable dance beats.
Currently on repeat on my ipod:
Cadonga
(We Stay) Up all night feat Blaya
8/10 I would give it!
Love it!

I can't get over the leather trend as you can tell, and I'm currently loving the way Ashely from Ring My Bell wears her leather skirt.

Christenings and Birthdays...

So after a couple of weeks drooling over the J Brands 901 red coated jeans... I managed to find a copy cat version from Zara (as seen on Intrigue Me Now).
Intrigue Me Now
Only difference between the two is that the Zara pair is not as heavily coated as the original J Brands, hence the huuuuuge price difference of £840.
But I am happy with my pair!
This weekend for me was jam packed with celebrations with family and friends and a cinema trip with a friend to attempt to see the new Twilight, which was a failure lol .
So on Saturday, I ended up wearing my pair to a christening and friends Birthday celebration this Saturday in Camden!

Aunty Coco...Or The witchdoctor as I like to call her

Today I met up with Boo! Coco, a well needed meet up since she hasn't had a phone for the past week so I have not been able to contact for her expert advice. You see Boo! is "my witchdoctor" as I fondly like to call her (she's not actually, just incase you were wondering well I don't think soo...lol) But anyways, yes! when I need advice when it comes to beauty, skincare, haircare she's the woman! She knows all the tricks and like a witchdoctor, it usually involves using natural stuff, which is the best really! It astounds me how much she knows! So I would like to introduce a section, where everyone is free to ask her questions no matter how big or small! And don't forget to start it with "Dear Witchdoctor...." lol.

Youtubers you should know: Destiny Godley

I've decided to share a few of my favourite Youtubers with you guys. I learn so much in regards to make up, exercise, hair and general badassness and thought it would be nice to share.
So the first Youtuber Guru is Destiny Godley, I have a huge girl crush on this beautiful blogger/vlogger/MUA/Actress-(did I miss anything). She does Chocolate girls proud, I'm pretty sure she's Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford's Love child.
Anyway my favourite Make-up tutorial was this Victoria's Secret Angels look which I've adapted for an everyday look.

Dope right and I tried my hand at it here's my interpretation with a little red lip

Til next time peeps peace x
