BLACK EYESHADOW...
Love it on Amerie
No breaking news, but when it comes to make up, I am as
unadventurous as they come.
I kinda like the smokey black eyeshadow look *D* previously wrote about and I have seen people where it around and now I'm quite tempted.
So I tried.... :)
I now vow to experiment more with my pallets and eye dust etc;

iDIY: Mama africa earrings

I have a tendency to be creative at the most inappropriate times (inappropriate times: procrastination) so the other day i was supposed to be doing something important like oh I don't know look for a job when an idea hit me (i say idea, i really mean i saw someone with something similar and wanted it for myself ;P). I wanted some African material earrings. Now those who know me know that i am Mama Africa....it was my nickname on my Bball team and i have it printed on a jumper so it's official .... so i thought it's only befitting to have a pair of earring to represent that (this is such a poor excuse... but whatever lol) anywho so i made these beauties.

I though I'd share with you guys how I made them so here goes

Step Uno: Your going to need a pair of old earrings, scissors, a glue gun (or a strong adhesive) and some material(i brought this like 4 years ago for £10 and have made a dress, a headscarf, a top and now these earrings, this material just keeps on giving)

Step Dos: Your going to cut out a small section, enough to cover the entire earring (look for an interesting part of the fabric) and fold it over onto the other side making a little envelope and then you glue down both sides of the material and make a little earring sandwich

Step Tres: CUT! CUT! CUT!  Now you cut the rest of the waste material away until you get to the original shape of the earring or if you have used a glue gun you can make your own shape as the glue dries quite hard
and Voila a pair of mama Africa earrings.

I wore them to carnival and got quite a few request for them so of anyone can't be bothered to make them HOLLA at your girls for a pair.

p.s shout out to Lizabeth for my craft box and my lil bro for buying me the original earrings

Vogue's Fashion Night Out

So Last night me and the girls headed to Oxford street for Vogue's FNO whereby Vogue hosted a huge shopping extravaganza which seemed in some sence like a street party containing buzzing crowds in their festival spirits. Only difference, people where sporting their heels.
It was a chance for those in the fashion industry (Giorgio Armani,Claudia Schiffer and Gwyneth Paltrow) to mingle with public shoppers - though we didnt bump into any.
We did however, get to see Janelle Monae perform a set live at the Gap Store. :) Amazing!
Pick up a few freebies...
and get in the Gap photo booth, Sporting their jeans...

Oh and before I go... I've come accross Willow Smiths song a couple of times now, and I'm still in shock! 9 years old!!!!!!
Don't Judge it till you've heard it.
Rihanna, WATCH OUT!!!

Como foi seu fim de semana?

So Friday was D's delayed night out... and from what I remember and from the photo's, the nibbles were tasty. The music however.... I swear to God, the DJ was playing every track I HATE TO DEATH.
The fact that my feet wasn't hurting me at the end of the night just goes to show how bad he was!
Regardless of that, us girls were all together and that all that really matters, as we are the ones who make the party...
During the weekend, I started reading a new book bought for me by D called ''Kiss My Tiara'' by Susan Jan Gilman. The book is amazingly funny and is a great sum up of me and my girls and the way we go about our lives. It's sub-title:
How to rule the world as a smart mouth goddess!
The book is a funny guide which offers women an intelligent alternative to the negative messages we hear in life on everything including sex, money and politics.
And to top it up... she has the best quotes ever
''Right now, there are two things in my life that need to be done: me and my laundry. I want to marry a man who can do both!''
A book every woman must read
As well as that, Friday afternoon, me and my mum did some quick shopping in the Village at Westfields for gifts to send to my aunt and cousins.
With the amount of money we spent (£850) at Lancome and Church, we were showered with free-ness (or better known as gifts with purchases) such as Lancome 'definicils' Mascara and L'absolu Rouge lipstick which I love love love!!
Included in the gift bag was also some Lancome cleanser, make up remover, toner and sample perfumes.
And best of all... a Lancome make-up bag!
God I love freebies!!!

3rd September

I've been back not even a week and people already want to complicate my life including my Bank! Arrgggghhhh!
Oh well, I don't have to think about all that ish today as its D's Birthday 'after' party.
Only problem is, I don't know what to wear, and I promised her I'd be ready by the time she come and picks me up at 6:40pm (FYI... I run on severe Angolan time - so this maybe a problem).
Hmmmm.... should I dress up? should I shorts up? should I playsuit it up?! Living out of my suitcase isn't helping the situation any better.
Ohhhh I don' t know.... let's not even get started with my hair! Oh my!
All I know is that...
''I got a feeling..... That tonight's gonna be a good night!!'' :)

Trying to get back on track....

So I'm back in London, 2 days now, and boy, I feel like I'm way behind on everything; time, gossip, and fashion!
My first day back, Miss 'Diva' over here decided to take me to Westfields to help her find her dress for 21st 'after' party.
It struck me how behind I felt on the latest trends and everyone seemed so on trend as I walked around in my jeans and boob tube! lol
I think being in Angola for a whole month, I had adapted to their lifestyle and fashion sense or should I say lack of! The country was too hot for me to be bothered with accessorising and thinking about what I am wearing each day. Instead, I just picked up the lightest and smallest things I could possibly find to wear so that I can stay cool and move around easily.
My statement pieces, shorts and a vest top.
Dressing up how I usually do back home only caused the locals in Angola to stare at me, wondering where the hell am I going all dressed up in my floral skorts and wedges lol.
Now that I am back, I feel so out staged by everyone passing us as we sit eating and conversing in the westfields food hall.
With September starting, I, like everyone else want to upgrade my wardrobe and looks.
What caught my eyes ... I must purchase asap! :D
My wants;
Biker Trousers: Topshop
Shearling Jacket & Strapped waistcoats: TopShop
Skinny cigarette trousers (channeling my work wardrobe): River Island
Statement Necklaces: River Island
Lace up Wedge ankle boots: River Island
and to add to my ring collection (I'm now becoming obsessed...)
Oval Stone with Flower Overlay
Ohhhh..... the lifestyle I have to fund! :s
until next time queridos!
